Monday, September 20, 2004

11 am - 2 pm: Info tabling - Find out more about consumption and green purchasing, sign up for a free reusable mug and remove your name from junk mail lists. Sproul Plaza.

7:30 pm: Film showing - "Affluenza" (1997) A look at one of the greatest social maladies of our time - materialism and overconsumption. Find out about voluntary simplicity, a growing trend around the world. 235 Dwinelle.

11 am - 2 pm: Info tabling: Find out more about recycling and reuse. Make a nifty reused notebook with the folks of Re-USE or buy a cheap used computer from Excess, Surplus & Salvage. Sproul Plaza.

7:30 pm: Film showing - "Blue Vinyl" (2002) Find out what the plastics industry doesn't want you to know about its products, which pervade every aspect of out everyday lives. 235 Dwinelle.

For Residence Hall Students

All week at the residence hall unit offices, exchange your regular incandescent bulb for an energy-efficient, environmentally friendly compact fluorescent bulb! Everyday 8 am - 5 pm at the unit office or go to the event info table during your unit's specified day:

Monday - Unit 1: 4 - 6 pm (by the mailboxes)

Tuesday - Unit 2: 4 - 6 pm (at Davidson Hall)

Wednesday - Unit 3: 5 - 7 pm (by the entry to the DC)

Thursday - CKC: 4 - 6 pm (by the mailroom)

Friday - Foothill, Bowles & Stern: 5 - 7 pm (by the entry to the DC)
