About Us!

Mission Statement

"The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

These services will be provided in a manner that is consistent with the mission of the American Red Cross and the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross Movement: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and Universality."

Our Student Organization

- We have an Executive Committee (ExComm) consisting of adminstrative and lines-of-service positions. Our ExComm meets every Wednesday in 79 Dwinelle, 8-9pm.

- General meetings, the second Thursday of each month, will be announced on the web site.

- Our office is in 510 Eshleman. Office hours are by appointment only.

Services

- We help to organize the regular blood drives on campus, which are often held in the Pauley Ballroom, 2nd floor of the MLK Student Union. See the Blood Services section of our Events page for more info.

- We offer CPR / First Aid training. See our CPR / First Aid page for more info.

- We allow volunteers to engage in the mission of the American Red Cross.

Getting Involved

- First and foremost, follow the instructions on our Volunteer Now! page for joining our mailing list, and read the other member requirements.

- Watch for event updates in your e-mail inbox and on our web site, and come volunteer.

- You can also join committees to plan out events while practicing your leadership and planning skills. We have four lines of services, each with its own committee. There is also a publicity committee that works on creatively promoting our student organization. See our Events page, and please contact the respective coordinators for each line of service if you have any questions.
