You have arrived at the Brihaspati Project's Links and Resources page. Below you will find links to great on-line resources for understanding the culture of Hinduism. I wish I could take credit for these sites, but alas they were all discovered on the web.
NOTE: To view Sanskrit and Hindi words in the devanagari script, users must have the font Xdvng downloaded and installed on their computer. Click here to download this font now then install in the appropriate fonts folder. Users without the font will have to be content with the English transliteration of all Sanskrit and Hindi terms.

INDOLOGY:
virtual e-text archive
This site contains an exhaustive
index of texts in Sanskrit and other ancient Indic languages that are now
available for on-line reading. Considering how expensive books have
become, a superb place to get information and access the sources of Hindu
philosophy.
Indian
Mythology
A general website with some basic
information on Hinduism, including some of the more famous puranic and
epic stories about the Gods. A pretty nice site, but watch out for
the guest book, it's not exactly appropriate viewing for those interested
in a religious experience!!
SASTRA
- Bhagavad Gita
The full text of the renowned Bhagavad
Gita provided by the Society for Krishna Consciousness. This text
is very important to understanding modern Hindusim, but be warned, this
particular society isn't accepted by many Hindus as being valid.
The
Hindu Calendar - Festivals, Fasts, Anniversaries, Holidays
Interested in knowing about the
ANCIENT Hindu Calendar (or at least one of them?) This is a pretty
nice site with lists of holidays, fasts, etc. and the starting dates for
the lunar months.
Timepiece:
The Hindu Calendar [Gods and Goddesses]
A general overview of divinity in
Hindu and some nice, concise descriptions of the major gods with some pretty
nice images. If you are trying to find information on an obscure
figure in Hindu mythology, this is not the place, but there is TONS of
good information.
HINDUISM
PAGE
A page with lots of links and information
on Hinduism, including information on Tantric aspects of Indian tradition.
Hindi
World
An interesting site that hasn't
been updated in a while, but nonetheless useful. It contains a Hindi-English
dictionary and some more images of Hindu deities.
The
Mahabharata
A page with some brief information
on the Mahabharata, the longest poem in the world and India's second
ancient epic.
Mahabharata
The on-line text of the ancient
epic.
SpiritWeb:
God and Gods of Hinduism
A very devotional website with information
about some of the Hindu pantheon.
