As the world evolves, life is being ruled more and more by computers and the Internet. With this growth comes the responsibility for people to remain in control of their lives. Gambling has been a source of concern time and time again, and with the birth of internet gambling just over a decade ago, it has the potential of getting out of control. It is therefore important to extinguish the threat of reckless online gambling before it manifests.
In order to prevent further gambling online, I recommend that the United States government steps in and uses its political influences in order to restrain internet gambling websites. First of all, those forms of gambling that have not yet been authorized in the United States must be prohibited to prevent them from becoming popular. In order to keep gambling websites based overseas from having American customers, the US government must use its international muscle to persuade foreign governments to regulate these websites.
Prohibiting or at least regulating internet gambling seems to be an impossible task. But if no action is taken, then the United States and the world do not stand a chance against the social horrors that internet gambling can and does bring. Will you allow for internet gambling to destroy our society?
