Our Mission
Stem cell research stands at today’s scientific and medical frontier, with the potential to greatly impact our lives and the lives of our children. If we choose to ignore the increasing communication gap between scientists and the general public, we risk the consequences of on-going misconceptions, including loss of support for this research. Therefore, diverse groups at the University of California, Berkeley’s Stem Cell Center have come together to find creative ways to inform the public (with emphasis on primary and secondary school students), promote dialogue, and motivate young people so that the research continues to move forward within the context of broad civic understanding of its tremendous potential.
