About This Site

This website was created in the Spring 2007 Semester at UC Berkeley by Andrew Schnorr (that's me!) as a final project for my Interdisciplinary Studies class on Computers and Web Design. The topic of anonymity on the internet was chosen because I personally am fairly well-known on various sites around the Internet. However, few know me by the same name. Some of my most commonly used pseudonyms (not including their variants) are:
    -Neo Deus
    -THE_BOLSHEVIK
    -Monarchist
    -Rhinoman
    -Janus
    -The Man
    -Time Weaver
    -Solomon Dusk

While each one of these pseudonyms has their own purpose – that is, they are supposed to represent different parts of my personality – I have found that, in the end, who I really am has shined through in each, albeit in slightly different ways. In this way, I feel like I have truly embodied the idea of the anonymous Internet user, so I felt it would be a good topic to choose.

Some Difficulties

Although there is a large amount of literature on this topic, only a small amount of this literature is based on hard research (experiments, etc.), which made it a little difficult for a research topic. Most of the information gathered had to be the well-educated opinions of experts. Because of this, I was forced to look through dozens of reports, separating the wheat from the chaff. There was also a little bit of frustration with the HTML, especially in the interactive parts of the website, trying to get them to work properly and whatnot. Thank goodness for the <iframe> tag!

Who am I?

The Illustrious Creator My name is Andrew Schnorr. I am a second-year Business Administration major at the Haas School of Business in UC Berkeley, eventually graduating in 2009. In addition to academics, I am also a Resident Assistant, currently employed at Clark Kerr Campus. I have also published a book and maintain a relatively popular weblog, with over 100 unique visitors a day. I enjoy writing, reading, acting, picture and sound editing, and general interaction with people, on- and offline. I also consider myself, under the pseudonym Janus, one of the primary factors in the demise of the short lived Kids WB™ online forums in 2001. Thanks for visiting! ^_^
