Diamonds are forever?

Conflict Diamonds Intro (Amnesty International)
So with Kanye West's recent release, "Diamonds From Sierra Leone" new attention has been paid to the human rights abuses in connection with the diamond trade. If you are interested in learning more, check out the amnesty international link for some excellent resources.
Here is an mp3 of the Sierra Leone mix of the track where Kanye makes explicit his feelings on the situation. While some of us may have some reservations re: some of Kanye's stances concerning a college education (please check out BRIDGES for some info regarding outreach), I think this is a positive position for someone to take. Damn, so much of our society is ignorant as hell, anybody trying to change that is usually a good thing.
..oh, and there is also a lil remix i did of the original track. Enjoy, and listen,.

The Diamonds remix is nice and Kanye's developing even more as an MC, plus it's hilarious to see Jay-Z destroy Memphis Bleek's remaining credibility. But the whole issue about conflict diamonds is done so much better in Lupe Fiasco's version (which was released before the remix). diamonds is a good attempt at bringing some social commentary to kanye's rap game. but isnt it a little contradictory to the super flossed out roca image with the watch all froze?
and i dont remember kanye announcing he will be donating all his diamonds to some sierra leone relief fund.
i wonder if kanye could get pharell and paul wall to shed their super froze slugged out grills.
