Becoming a Member

Requirements:

SHKCA membership is open to all current and former University of California, Berkeley (UCB) students, faculty and staff members, and the immediate family of any SHKCA alumnus.

Procedure:
-1. Fill out the SHKCA membership form.
-2. Pay a membership due of $8 per semester or $12 for Life-time membership.

Upon paying dues SHKCA will issue you a membership ID which allows you to access the SHKCA website.

Benefits:

As the new team of SHKCA officers, we are excited to introduce you to a range of new benefits as a member of the SHKCA family:

1. Event Notification!

Members of SHKCA will be invited to and notified of all our members only events.

2. Priority at our events!

Members will have priority at all our events and will be given discounts to outing activities where space are always limited.

3. Subsidized member events!

SHKCA member initiated events or activities can be subsidized up to $100.

4. Weekly News Monitor!

SHKCA members will also be subscribed to a weekly current events new update which provides weekly Hong Kong and Chinese news. This helps the busy working student save a lot of time

5. SHKCA Info-bank!

SHKCA now also has a growing Info Bank, which stores many of the tests and notes for various classes. Members can access these information through the SHKCA website which requires a members login.

For all this, we ask a $8-fee from you for one semester and $12-fee for life time. For a small fee, you can make a big difference. You will be a member of the SHKCA family. Your money will not be wasted.

You don't need to be ethnically Chinese to be one of us, you don't need to be an established scholar to be one of us, you don't need to be proficient in the Chinese language to be one of us, you don't need to have a wide knowledge of Hong Kong and Chinese affairs to be one of us'all you need is an open mind. Join us at our weekly Thursday meetings.
