Welcome to the University of California, Berkeley Chapter of SPICMACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth). SPICMACAY is a voluntary, student movement aimed at educating the youth and community about the rich cultural heritage of India.
As a student-group at UCB, we organize Indian classical music/dance concerts and lec-dems at UCB.

Relevant Information:
A lecture-demonstration on South Indian classical music by renowned violinists Ganesh and Kumaresh. The brothers, who were hailed as child prodigies, have performed widely in India and across the globe. They have teamed up with musical luminaries like Ustad Zakir Hussain, John McLaughlin, Steve Thornton and A R Rahman.
The artists will present some of the intricacies of South Indian classical music in an interactive session with students. They will also perform some popular compositions with their own unique interpretations.
