# 09 Oct 2003, 11:49AM: Get Out To Vote: Leonard and I registered to vote on the same day at a local Department of Motor Vehicles this summer, and the DMV silently misplaced or misprocessed my registration, and correctly processed his. So I went to City Hall and a courthouse in downtown SF on Election Day and successfully petitioned to vote "absentee."

My reserved, even standoffish demeanor, and possibly my tweed blazer, led the bailiff to ask whether I was a lawyer. I thought, "Seth might be pleased!" even though the bailiff probably meant it as an insult (you had to be there).
