# (3) 17 Apr 2007, 10:34AM: Riddle Me This:
I work in a software firm. I am the only person there, except the office manager, who is not a born-and-bred computer geek. They play video games all the time. Yet I'm the only one who regularly walks in reading comic books, and who makes Star Trek references that no one understands at the lunch table. Worst....stereotype....ever.
Note on my objective weirdness: I've also been bringing in MAD Magazine to put next to Linux Journal for bathroom reading.

Is MAD Magazine still funny, or funny again? My parents had back issues from the 70s that were hilarious, but I remember looking at a couple issues from the 90s that were bleah.

I like MAD enough to read it basically every month, and better than I like The Onion. MAD has a few actually biting jokes in every issue (e.g., last month's full-page parodies of Army recruiting ads), and I think it respects its readers -- the school/social satires ring true to me.I hear that SNL and MAD were awesome in the 70s, but I haven't seen stuff from the era so I can't compare. What was the landmark satirical publication/show from the 90s, anyway?

The Simpsons?
