Snow topped trees brought in a beautiful day of skiing for John, myself, and my Dad.

Finally, I've managed to pull together some pictures from my other two ski trips this semester.  The first trip was a two day event, one day at Donner Ski Ranch, one day at Sugarbowl (yeah, its my favorite resort if you haven't figured it out yet).  I went with Pilan, Ray, and Patrick, who was snowboarding for the very first time.  It was great watching his first step out of the car cause him to slip on the ice.  Welcome to snow-country Patrick!  The conditions where absolutely horrible... cloudy, snowy, windy, and foggy all mixed together.  The top of Mount Lincoln was eerie, almost total whiteout conditions.  If you've seen "the construct" white room from the matrix, that is exactly what it was like.  The only things that existed in the world were us, our chair, and about 5 feet of lift cable in front of us.  Once we got underneath the clouds, the snow and wind came down.  Not even goggles could make the slopes visible, and by the end of the day, my waterproof ski pants were soaked through.  Even still, it was great fun, and Id do that again anytime. (Yay for skiing!)

My less than graceful landing after massive air. =)

The second trip was only one day, once again at Sugarbowl.  We packed a car together, myself, Sam, Raymond (different from the Ray on the last trip, and not the Ray pictured below), Sharon, Sarah, and John.  My Dad met us on the slopes, and skied with us for half the day until he re-injured his ankle.  Sharon and Sarah were first time skiers, and after helping them figure out the ropes, they went off on a lesson and we headed for higher ground.  We hit the hardest runs on the mountain we could get to, stuff probably a bit above my skill level, but fine for John and my Dad.  I convinced my Dad to snap a shot of my going off a jump (pictured above)... what you dont see is how much snow blasted him in the face when I landed.  HAHAHA.... oops!  We did a few wide shoots through some cliffs, one of which I ate it really bad on.  Face-plants rolling down steep hills are no fun, and by 2 o'clock, I called it a day for myself and went to sleep in the lodge.

Ray and me, chilling on the lift up.

Just a random note that came from this trip.... This was the first time I had met Raymond, Sam's friend.  He is a junior living up Dwight, but his freshman year, one year after mine, he lived in the foothill dorms like myself.  In La Loma, like myself.  In fact, in room 2B43C, like myself!  It never fails to amaze me how small a world it is sometimes.
