SPRING BREAK!!!
Redrocks

Hard to tell, but downtown Denver is in the background.

So towards the end of our stay in Denver, Cindy took us to visit Redrocks just west of Denver.  Redrocks is a beautiful outdoor amphitheater known for its sunsets.  We showed up about 15 minutes after the sun went down.  =(  It was still cool, you can see the blue and pink in the sky mix to make a great display of the world.  Later on, as it got dark, the Denver skyline lit up the clouds... it was really beautiful.  In the picture above, we are at the top of the theater, with Elliot, Wayne, myself, Wendy, and Cindy, left to right.  Leon sacrificed himself to take pictures on this one.... but he's still there!

The rocks tower over both sides, almost symmetrical in appearance.  Id guess people climb up into some of the holes in the rocks to watch concerts... it seems like in the summer, it would be absolutely wonderful.  I could just imagine someone like Dave Matthews jamming on stage, while the roar of the crowd echoes between the rock walls, all with Denver glittering in the background.

Natural rock formations like this tower above the amphitheater.

On the left, we see Cindy and Wendy as they trudge down to the stage.  All the seats were covered with maybe a foot or two of snow... and from the top, it appeared that some snowboarders thought they could use this as a ski slope.  I don't see how, though.  There was a drop off between steps, and the snow was crusty on top, but soft enough to crunch through to the bottom.  When Wendy and Cindy tried to hike back up, they ended up resorting to crawling the second half.  (We didn't make it easier for them, throwing snowballs the whole way).
