SPRING BREAK!!!
Reno 

Our last major stop on the trip, Reno NV.

After a full day of driving through the salt flats of Utah and the Nevada desert (I think about 10 hours total =P), we arrived at Reno, our mirage on the horizon.  The plan was to stop for a well deserved buffet, gas up, and keep on truck'n.  Unfortunately, it was friday night, and all the buffets were running around 20 dollars a plate.... a little pricey for those of us who blew our wad during the week.  Really, who wants sea food that has probably been sitting out in the sun for a week anyways?  (Ok, maybe we wanted those lobsters just a bit).  After a little hunting around, we found the cheap food at Circus Circus, a mere 12 dollars.  AND there was a basketball game on the big screen.  Dinner and a show, who could complain?

After dinner we wandered through the casino for a while.  Elliot dropped like 50 cents at the slots, while I placed two bets at the roulette table.... and won!  Almost won enough to cover dinner, so I was happy.  BTW, I generally agree with Wendy on this point: Casinos just exploit people for  their money and take advantage of disadvantaged segments of society by playing on their hope.  When you gamble, win or lose, it supports these means, and can't be a good thing.  Plus you usually just piss your money away.

On the other hand, look how happy Elliot is. =)  Sometimes, its fun to gamble, just don't carry high expectations.
