[1] The reading "inochi" ((human) life) is given the kanji "seimei" (life, existence).
[2] The reading "kao" (face) is given the kanji "hyoujou" ((facial) expression).
[3] "Ayashii" usually means "strange" or "suspicious", but here a different kanji is being used for "aya" and makes it also mean "dangerous."
[4] "Aka" (here from "akaku" but also in the title) can mean "crimson" or "bloody".
[5] This line can also be translated as "...until we become exhausted" or "...until the end comes".
