All this futile fighting, which begets nothing
Continues under the sun even to this day...

taemanaku nagareru namida   onaji kazu no hakanai inochi
The tears that flow unceasingly,
The human lives that are equally innumerable

kono hiroi ginga de tatta hitotsu   kami ni ataerareta chikyuu de
boku-tachi wa nani wo omoinagara ikite yuku beki nano deshou ka
On this very one Earth in the great vast galaxy
Given to us by God,
What should we be thinking about, I wonder,
As we live our lives?

osanai kokoro wa ima mo furueteru
jidai wa kurikaesu nani mo manabazu
My young heart trembles, even now
The times repeat themselves, learning nothing.

kanashimi ni uchikateru you ni   'wasureru koto' oboeta no ka
To try to overcome sadness,
Have we simply learned to 'forget'?

kono hiroi ginga de tatta hitotsu   kami ni ataerareta chikyuu de
boku-tachi wa nani wo omoinagara ikite yuku beki nano deshou ka
On this very one Earth in the great vast galaxy
Given to us by God,
What should we be thinking about, I wonder,
As we live our lives?

tomedonaku afureru ai wo   motomete iru hazu no inochi
Love that overflows without end
That these human lives are surely searching for

itsunohika ginga no chiri to nari   kami no moto he to tabidatsu toki
boku-tachi wa nanika wo manabiyuku   tsumi sae mo tsutsumikomu basho he...
kono hiroi ginga mo hoshi-tachi mo   hitotsu ni naru
omoi wo atsumete
When, someday, we become the dust of the galaxy
And start out towards the place of God
We will learn something as we go
Somewhere where even sins become covered over
This great vast galaxy and the stars all become one [1]
Drawing together these thoughts...
