教えて erenai hitomi ni wa nani ga utsutte'ru no boku wa doushite umarete kita? oshiete What do I see In those pure eyes? Why was I born to this place? Tell me. 選べない運命を宿命と呼んだ 儚い命の意味は 小さな手の中に 握りしめた冷たいあの鉛で 「僕たちに愛をもっともっと愛を やさしいぬくもりください 大好きな人が今日も遠くへ逝く ひとりまたひとり」 erabenai unmei wo shukumei to yonda hakanai inochi no imi wa chiisa na te no naka ni nigirishimeta tsumetai ano namari de 'boku-tachi ni ai wo motto motto ai wo yasashii nukumori kudasai daisuki na hito ga kyou mo tooku he yuku hitori mata hitori' This unavoidable future called 'destiny' The meaning of our fleeting lives A cold piece of lead grasped in those small hands 'More love, more and more love, Please give us a tender touch, The ones I cherish are passing away Every day, one by one.' この世界のすべては誰の手の中にある せめて神様 あなたであるように kono sekai no subete wa dare no te no naka ni aru semete kami-sama anata de aru you ni [1] In whose hands Does this entire world lie? At the very least, God, you're with us... Or so it seems. [1] 人が人を裁いて 人が人を傷つけ 私たちの街でもそんな匂いが hito ga hito wo sabaite hito ga hito wo kizutsuke watashi-tachi no machi de mo sonna nioi ga People condemn people, People hurt people, Even in our city A stench wafts through the air ここでもまたなぜか涙を流すのは 儚い命を持った 小さな手をぎゅっと握りしめたあの子達 守って 「僕たちは愛を教えるためここへ 生まれていたんだ だけど 大好きな人に愛されていたい本当は 永遠に」 koko demo mata nazeka namida wo nagasu no wa hakanai inochi wo motta chiisa na te wo gyuu to nigirishimeta ano ko-tachi mamotte 'boku-tachi wa ai wo oshieru tame koko he umarete ita n'da dakedo daisuki na hito ni ai sarete itai hontou wa eien ni' Why are there tears flowing again even here? Bearing their fleeting lives With clenched fists, those little children We must protect 'We were born to teach about love, but In truth, what we've always really sought Is to be loved by those we cherish.' 選べない運命を宿命と呼んだ 尊い命を持った 小さな手の中に 見えない愛を握りしめたエンジェル 「僕たちに愛をもっともっと愛を やさしいぬくもりください 僕たちは愛を教えるために…ここまで来たけど」 erabenai unmei wo shukumei to yonda toutoi inochi wo motta chiisa na te no naka ni mienai ai wo nigirishimeta ENJERU 'boku-tachi ni ai wo motto motto ai wo yasashii nukumori kudasai boku-tachi wa ai wo oshieru tame ni... koko made kita kedo' This unavoidable future called 'destiny' Bearing their precious lives These angels hold tightly in their small hands This unseeable thing called love 'More love, more and more love, Please give us a tender touch, Though we ourselves came here... to teach about love.' -- TRANSLATOR'S NOTES: [1] There's a kind of trick used here that takes advantage of the structure of Japanese grammar. 'Semete kami-sama anata de aru', implies, by itself, that the writer thinks, 'At least, God, you are here'. But the 'you ni' slipped into the end of the line changes the whole meaning, thus I translated it as 'Or so it seems'.
