[2] A more literal translation could be, "If this heart of mine that loves doesn't have a kind of boldness/strength that can become gentle / I want to throw it away."
[3] This is a fairly literal translation. It can also be translated as "How should I be feeling?" or possibly "How do I want others to think I'm feeling?"
