asayake ni   somariyuku ten to chi wa
fukaku idakiai hitotsu ni naru
akaki seirei ga furisosogu   sono koe wa
samayoi tadoritsuita   watashi wo tsutsumikomu
Painted by the morning light, the earth and sky
Become one in a deep embrace
Scarlet spirits drench the air, and as I find myself here,
That voice envelops me

ah   subete no inochi wa mezame   kono hoshi wa ikiru [1]
Ah... All life awakens, [1]
This planet lives.

hashirisaru ouja ya   namiutsu Sand storm [2]
kizutsuita kokoro wa   ai de mitasareru
kumori hitotsu nai   hitomi no kodomo-tachi wa
odorinagara uta wo sasage   seijaku wo yaburu
The striding king, the billowing sand storm [2]
My wounded heart fills with love
Children, their eyes cloudless and bright,
Dance and sing away the silence

ah   nageki no tenshi ga  itsuka  kono hoshi ni kitemo
Ah... Though angels of mourning
May someday find this planet...

--mamoraremasu you ni   mamoreru you ni--
doko he tsudzuku   inori no michi wa
hibike motto takaku   sora no kanata he
iyasareta kokoro wa   ai ni moete yuku
--Grant us safety, grant us the power to save--
Where the path of prayer leads
Resound high and clear, beyond the broad sky
My mended heart blazes with love

--minna wo ai shitai   ai saretai--
sou negau toki   norikoerareru
mamoraremasu you ni   mamoreru you ni...
subete no inochi wa   ai ni tokete yuku
--I wish to love everyone, I wish to be loved--
When you make this prayer, you shall prevail
Grant us safety, grant us the power to save...
All life melts into love

Translator's Notes :
* The title of this song may be borrowed from 19th century English writer H. Ridder Haggard's novel 'She'. In it, the narrator speaks of 'the substance from which all things draw their energy, the bright Spirit of the Globe, without which [the world] cannot live, but must grow cold and dead as the dead moon.'
[1] Here and in a later line, the reading 'inochi' (life) is given the kanji 'seimei' (life).
[2] The reading 'ouja' (king/champion) is given the kanji 'shishi' (lion).
