About
The Undergraduate Economics Association exists as the extracurricular artery for the economics community at Cal. We provide a social venue for exploring the field in effort to promote camaraderie between students in the major and in other departments. Our member base goes beyond economics students - we run the major gamut from PEIS to EECS, from Letters & Science to Haas, and everything in between.
UEA hosts activities that are divided into themes of pre-professional, pre-graduate student, and purely social. These events give members a forum to explore their intellectual curiosity while being exposed to careers in the praxis of the discipline. We like to network, too -- UEA facilitates interactions between undergraduates, graduates, alumni, faculty, and professionals at the various events we host. All these workshops, receptions, lectures, and educational forums help students get the most out of economics course offerings.
UEA is officially sponsored by the Department of Economics and the Associated Students of the University of California. We are the only general economics organization on campus open to all majors and academic colleges.
