About Reviews by the
Judge Advocate General

Suspected Class B and C class war criminals were tried in Yokohama, Japan between 1946 and 1948. These trials were then reviewed by the 8th Army Judge Advocate, and the results are housed at the Center on 5 microfilm reels titled "Reviews of the Yokohama Class B and C war crimes Trials by the 8th Army judge Advocate (1946-1949)."

Stella Lee, a senior researcher at the War Crimes Studies Center, prepared detailed analyses of over 150 of these reviews, and her work is available here. Click on the defendant name to see summaries of the original Class B and C trials, followed by the Judge Advocate's findings and recommendations.
