The OCF is an all-volunteer, student-run, student-initiated service group dedicated to free computing for all University of California at Berkeley students, faculty, and staff. Among our services, we offer:

Recent Notices

04/29	We are having some deliverability problems sending mail to calmail.
	We are working on a temporary workaround and will work with
	the calmail team to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

04/17	As of today, the OCF is now using an improved, more secure account
	storage and authentication framework.  Among other things, this
	transition brings faster and more reliable Windows printing and
	single-sign-on support for the Unix clients.  It also means that you
	MUST sign on to at least one OCF service (Windows or Unix clients,
	webmail, POP, IMAP, online account tools, SSH (WITH YOUR PASSWORD),
	etc.) sometime in the next six months, or else become an obligatory
	beta tester for the password migration tool, coming this fall.

Announcements

OCF Board of Director Meetings This meeting is the one that we hold weekly to discuss issues that arise at the OCF. If you would like to come by and contribute your commentary, you are more than welcome to. We meet at 7pm in 109 Wheeler every Thursday night, starting February 7.
Sun Server Donation The OCF would like to thank Sun Microsystems for its generous donation of a new, fully-loaded Sun Fire v40z server. This machine allows us to better serve the Berkeley community as a whole by offering high-performance web hosting. For over a decade, Sun's contributions have allowed the OCF to grow with the needs of its expanding user base, now numbering more than 10,000. It is the continued generosity of benefactors like Sun Microsystems that makes student-run computing a reality at UC Berkeley.
