MSN messenger, AIM offers free services to the public with numerous functions and resources, which has impacted most students' academic learning and social contacts. There are also some new rises in the telecommunication, such as online telephone services, Skype. Through many centuries that human remained communication through verbal talking or telephone service. Recently, instant messenger service usage grows rapidly due to the increase of students using internet. I understand that instant messenger service is a new type of communication; yet, it did influence students to do better in academic learning or social contacts. Many students seek this service as their most efficient facility to learn or exchange ideas for academic purposes, as well as socializing among peers.
