John is in a concrete room filled with clicking sounds, which correspond to each consecutive second. The room is in the shape of a quadratic prism, its length 30 m, its width and height 4 m. The long walls are marked with vertical lines, each representing one meter. The narrow walls have an iron part, which is rectangular, up to 3 m high. He approaches the two adjacent wall buttons right in the middle of the room. After carefully trying them out, he gathers that they control the iron part of the walls, which may close in on him and crush him like a press. He observes that both walls travel 1 s and then pause 7 s. The wall on his left travels 3 m in 1 s, and the wall on his right 5 m in 1 s. A wall instantly returns to its original position, if a button is pushed for the 2nd time. What he can’t be certain of, but supposes it, is that each wall can travel 30 m. He supposes also that the iron walls are being pushed and pulled by outer iron bar, which is centered in their middle. While thinking about his predicament, a small and pretty girl dressed in white clothes appears. She confirms his suppositions in a seraphic voice, smiles ever so gently and disappears.
