POLICY: LINKS IN SIGNATURES AND HOMEPAGES

You may not have links in your signature until you reach Junior Member status (50 posts).  If you are a Newbie with links in your signature your posts will be removed as soon as they are noticed.

Sorry if that seems harsh, but there have been a large number of spammers creating an account with commercial links in their signature, posting one or two hello-type posts, and never being heard from again.  These posts clutter up the forums, and serve no purpose other than to spam the links.  There is no problem with active forum members linking to their blog, promoting their favorite website, etc., but this is a privilege to be earned by contributing to the discussions, and the simplest place to draw the line is at the status change.

In addition, any posts by new members with a website in their profile may be removed at a moderator's discretion if they appear to be spam.  This is a relatively low-traffic board and the moderators can generally tell who is genuinely participating and who is just here to spread links around.  If you feel your post has been removed in error, feel free to PM any moderator (click their name, then Send Private Message) for a personal apology.

Of course, exceptions can be made for exceptional circumstances, and there is no intention of making this policy retroactive: that is, old posts which violate this policy will generally be left in place.  Remember, this is a policy, not a law carved in stone for all time.

Thank you for your understanding.

tl;dr: link spam not welcome here--go peddle your crap elsewhere.

Thanks for making this clear, this is a very useful forum and should not be used as a link source.

We should not spam forums, forums are a great source to get backlinks. we should only post informative threads and helpful reply.
I have a question and I didn't find answers around the forum.
Q: How many threads/post we can creat every dayHuhis there any limit??

Very clear guide-lines regarding spam... i agree completely that back links are a valuable source of info, not just here but across the internet at large by pushing irrelevant sites to the top of search results.

To me that's the definition of SPAM in one word, RELEVANCE.

If a link doesn't directly relate to a topic or post, it would be spam.

It is not a strict rule, nor a right.

It means that before you have proven to be a regular and worthy contributor, we will promptly and without any warning remove links or whole posts which we feel are there only to advertize another web site.

It's always possible to ask a moderator to make a link somewhere if you can't make one yourself.
And as it is, you can make a limited number of links after a few posts. (An option many people still manage to use to prove they're spammers.)

great policy rule.
Some forums do it automatically. The system checks if user already made 50 posts. If he already made particular number of posts than he is able to add his signature

50 posts or not i think a members contribution and he's willingness to help others should be defined by something else not posts. I am a newbie but i am not saying give everyone right to spam forums but their should be a better way. a spammer will find its way to spam or even manage to make 50 posts to add that link for which he has came to the forum.

I agree it's not optimal. But it's a lot easier to make software count the number of posts than it is to make software judge a member's character. So as far as automated spam-deterrence goes, it's one of the easier ones to implement.
