Post by mahmudamkhanom on Sep 28th, 2013, 4:32pm
Hi,
This is a good forum posting site. I like this forum. I like to do math. I teach to my students it. There are many formulas in Mathematics.

Hello. Yes there are a lot of formulas in math. I wander if anyone has ever counted the number of them. Kinda sounds ironic  :-/

The number of formulas in mathematics is infinite. You can always generate new ones from old ones.

Though the number that have actually been written down is certainly finite. Counting these is potentially misleading because it is a subjective matter to decide those formulas which you leave unwritten and those which you display.

I was considering what the finite number would be. You could take only one formula and modify it to infinity and back but it still is the basic formula at its core. Unified theory anyone? :o
