I don't think macs have any benefits other than that they're a status symbol (or used to be). The major benefit of windows is that lots of software is made for windows because it holds the vast share of the market. One downside is that this is true for malware as well. Benefits of linux is that it's free, it's easy to write software on/for and has lots of open source software that may only be poorly ported to windows. |

Title: Re: MAC or Windows? Post by JaneBD on Aug 3rd, 2014, 11:41am I had this issues a few months ago - couldn't decided whether to stick with a mac OS, windows or switch completely. I use to use linux a year ago, but got a new computer and never bothered changing the installed OS. In the end I left my mac with the mac OS, cause it was built for it and also I've found it the be the best OS for apple products. Whereas with my laptop I've switched to Ubuntu and honestly ... It's great, so much better than Windows - with windows my abilities were so controlled. Windows is only good for the novice user, and Linux based is good if you want to get better at programming. So overall for me - neither, I'm choosing Ubuntu ahhaaha. :) |
