I'm buying a new laptop, considering a touch screen one or would that be a waste of money.

Does anyone already have one - and issues with them, do you even use the touch screen that much?

Smudges on the screen would probably drive me crazy.

The real question is, what do you plan to use your laptop for. And is a touchscreen useful/desirable for that use case?

That's exactly what I mean, I'd have no use for it - like it's novelty would wear thin after a week.

Well, then it's easy, if it has no use and too little novelty value, don't take it into consideration except possibly as tie-breaker.
