Hehehe. Well you'd be surprised how many people miss it; actually out of all the people I've asked, I can't remember anyone getting it! Even on instant messenger when the problem statement is typed out. The riddle is probably too easy the way I've posted it because the problem statement is in an audio file instead of text, and the peculiarity of this presentation immediately suggests that the riddler listen carefully. However, if someone gives you this problem in everyday conversation, I think you really have to "think outside the box" to solve it. Two of my friends, David and Sid, gave me this problem a year ago late at night at lab. I stared at it for a really long time and tried lots of things; even converted the letters to ASCII code. Eventually they kept shouting the problem statement at me. Then I was like, "Why the hell do you keep repeating that? I know what the problem is." Then they said I was close Incidientally, I was e-mailed the O T T F F sequence riddle about a month ago but got stuck on that for too long as well, gah I think the sender's presentation made it a little more difficult: ? T T F F S S E N T E T T F F S S E N T By just visual symmetry you are tempted to think that ? = E. Then you start pondering over why the symmetry would be broken.

I think that you could probably dispense with the audio file altogether: The instructions for this riddle are essentially the same as for all other riddles of this sort. Just put up the partial letter sequence, and most folks will figure out what they're supposed to do (probably even in the exact same words!).

Hmmmm... I think I see why O is the solution for _ T T F F S S E N T E T T F F S S E N T Is it because the column number (ie 1,2,3,4,5) is represented by the first letter of the number written out (ie one, two, three, four, five)? So the answer is O. But I'm missing what the rest of the matrix means. Help.
