After seeing Thudandblunder's posts on chess...I decided it would be fun to make my own. Black just moved. No pieces have been captured in the last 6 moves. What were the last 67 moves...haha, j/k I mean the last 5. This had to modified...I'm really positive I fixed the problems. I added another condition: Black has just moved his king.

Expect a lot of silly answers like: Why can't White just play 1. Qxg2 mate?

| Bee-bee, in these puzzles we must work out what the previous moves were, not what the next moves should be. For an easier example see http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~wwu/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=riddles_med ium;action=display;num=1050452417 One good thing about these non-standard chess puzzles is that you don't much chess-playing ability to solve them. All you need is to be familiar with the rules of the game.

I think I screwed up on the possibilities...I wanted there to be one answer...I'll fix any problems hopefully later today. I have to go to class.

| Yeah, it's not easy to construct these retro puzzles, and it's even harder to be sure about them.

I was copying the puzzles I made to have my cousin try them out...I just noticed that this one hasn't been solved. I think it was mainly because of uncertainty. However, I took a look at the puzzle and it seems logically fine to me so I thought I'd bring up to the front again in case someone would like to solve it.

| Taking 5 moves back, we get the position below. From the diagram play must have gone 1...........e3+ 2. Be4+ Qg2+ 3. Nfg3++ Kh2 Not a bad effort, Lighboxes.
