Over-thinking this?

It's cute.

But... A + B resembles Pac-Man, so B reduces to 0.
Which means A doesn't particularly resemble Pac-Man.
Which means the whole thing becomes B...

Which means the graph winks out of existence... just like when PacMan dies... Shocked

Right?

If you look at the pieces separately A (a disc with a wedge missing) looks like Pacman, but B (a wedge) doesn't.

For me, the whole chart (100%) looks like pac man.

And to say that 65% (for instance) of the chart looks like pac man is a big of a semantic mind twister because it makes it sound as though any subgroup of these 65 percent looks like pac man, just as when you say "65% of the population has brown eyes". And of course if you take ten percent of the chart from a piece of area A, it will look nothing like pac man, unless you slice it in a pac-man-like shape...

You proved that there does not exist a largest section which looks like pac-man. I am not one to assume A has to be the largest section satisfying that property.

The problem is with the background for the chart - on a different background (or with a different colour for the not-Pacman sector) the full chart wouldn't look like Pacman...
