Title: Re: aeiou Post by Chris on Jan 30th, 2003, 3:58pm Sorry aqueous if I could spell correctly. I've never been accused of being a good speller... |

Title: Re: aeiou Post by jakevil on Jan 30th, 2003, 4:04pm greetings Other than cheating by using "queuing" (I'm not sure if that would count, since someone said "queue" already), I can think of a couple... obsequious onomatopoeia I ran across a webpage once... I'll see if I can find it on google.. It had a whole bunch of "weird vowel words" listed. I'll dig around, and post the link if I can find it. |

Title: Re: aeiou Post by Phil on Jan 30th, 2003, 7:18pm How about sequoia? And the alternate spelling of palaeoanthropology. For what it's worth, some dictionaries accept the spelling queueing with 5 vowels in a row and the word cooeeing, which is the act of screaming like an Australian. And a post-postscript: here's a word oddity webpage with these and many other vowel combinations: http://members.aol.com/gulfhigh2/words6.html |
