I suspect the 15 year prediction threshold is based on assumptions that ignore the effects of the exponential growth predicted upon the prediction threshold...

The bit about a week's worth of newspapers containing more information than an average person would learn in a lifetime in 1800 is only going to be true for very restrictive definitions of information. A high-quality map of even a small village and surrounds is going to contain more information, and most people in 1800 would have at least one of those in their head...

That video is waaaay outdated.  Imagine, that was back in 2006!  ;)

About the amount of information in the 1800, that's probably about written information, or textual information transmitted orally.

When it says 40 exabytes of information are generated, and that's more than what the human race in the previous 5000 years, how exactly do you translate information ( which I take to mean knowledge ) to bytes ?
