I started to learn Python. Then someone suggested to me that I should learn Pari/Gp instead for faster computations.

Is anyone using Pari/Gp for solving problems in recreational math and number theory?

I can't find any benchmarks that compare Pari/Gp with python. And aside from that it seems you can use Pari/Gp from python.
