I see.... I was assuming that I would be able to identify which bulb was the blown bulb by looking at it when entering the room. I was imagining finding a brownish burnt out bulb or a shattered bulb. In all of my explanations I used the knowledge of which room had the blown bulb. I guess you must assume that there is no way of telling which bulb is burnt out by looking at it.

Yes, but room 3 might have the blown bulb. Or room two for that matter.
