While there's no objection to progressive riddles, we generally don't much go for "email me the answer" around here -- it's a discussion board after all.  Also, I have my doubts about this belonging in Hard -- either medium or CS is probably more appropriate.

As to the puzzle itself, JPEG files normally end with the two bytes FF D9 -- the JPEG EOI (end of image) marker; however, in this file there are 91 bytes of data following the EOI:

[hide]0878: 52 61 72 21 1A 07 00 CF 90 73 00 00 0D 00 00 00  |  Rar!     s
0888: 00 00 00 00 C9 B2 74 20 90 39 00 07 00 00 00 07  |        t  9
0898: 00 00 00 02 D1 A2 6B DF A3 9E 32 38 1D 30 14 00  |        k   28 0
08A8: 20 00 00 00 54 68 65 20 61 6E 73 77 65 72 20 69  |      The answer i
08B8: 73 2E 2E 2E 2E 74 78 74 00 B0 A0 25 26 42 61 6E  |  s....txt   %&Ban
08C8: 61 6E 61 73 C4 3D 7B 00 40 07 00                 |  anas ={ @
[/hide]
So on first guess, I'd say: "[hide]The answer is Bananas[/hide]."

[edit] In fact, those 91 bytes are a very small RAR (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAR_(file_format)) file.  WinZip won't open it, but let's see if I can make any progress by hand... [/edit]

[edit2] As I suspected, although there are a few bytes I can't account for, it's clearly a RAR archive containing a file named "[hide]The answer is....txt[/hide]" which file contains the uncompressed string "[hide]Bananas[/hide]" [/edit2]

Sorry to bring this back up, but what was the original problem here? Was there an attachment?

I would assume there had been a jpg-attachment (or link).

Considering the cruel decapitation of this thread, perhaps it's best if I delete it in a day or two.

If you'd prefer to recreate it through editing, I have attached the original file to this post...
