Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by wowbagger on Aug 1st, 2003, 1:44am Hm, looks like an elementary puzzle that the casual riddler should have no problem to solve. I don't think it's really "hard". |

Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by Friberg on Aug 1st, 2003, 3:47am Sorry for puting it here.. i didn't know where to put it... i think its hard anyways :'( |

Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by wowbagger on Aug 1st, 2003, 4:10am Never mind. Opinions on the difficulty of riddles vary quite often. |

Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by Friberg on Aug 1st, 2003, 4:51am Mmkay... but do you know any solution to this one? Thanks.. |
||
Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by wowbagger on Aug 1st, 2003, 5:27am Yes, I do. Part of my first post is a hint. Well, if not to the solution then at least to the fact that I solved it. Try to [hide]relate the range of numbers in the second part to the first part[/hide]. Hope that leads you somewhere. |

Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by Friberg on Aug 1st, 2003, 5:34am Nope.. still not got it :'( |
||
Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by wowbagger on Aug 1st, 2003, 5:52am How about this: [hide]The length of each line in the first part is 41. But that's not of much help[/hide]. |
||
Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by Friberg on Aug 1st, 2003, 5:59am Tells me nothing though.. :( can't you write like: Hint 1: hint 2: hint 3: answer: and make hint 1 hard, 2 medium and 3 easy.. or something.. thanks very much.. |
||
Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by wowbagger on Aug 1st, 2003, 6:04am I'll try. Although I already gave hints number one and two in my previous posts, if you will. Hint: [hide]Think of the second part somehow indexing elements of the first[/hide]. Way to the answer: [hide]Rearrange the lines of the first part according to the numbers given in the second. So the third line becomes the first, the second remains second, the fifth becomes third and so on. Now read[/hide]. |

Title: Re: Visual Crypto Post by wowbagger on Aug 4th, 2003, 3:36am You're welcome. :) I haven't seen such a coding either, by the way. As it is, it's a bit too clear, I think. One could probably use it (at school, for example :D) if one somehow codes (or safely communicates) the second part and breaks the formatting of the first, letting the intended recipient know the length of the lines. |
