Title: Filling a 6x6 grid

You are given 36 circular pieces, 18 red and 18 green.

It is possible to place all of them in the 6x6 grid shown, so that no 4 pieces of the same color forms a square?

If it is, show how. If it is not, prove it.

Hi, Spike,
Nice work, but it looks to me that you still have at least one blue and one red square. At least, I suppose you not only have to consider straight and 45º  rotated squares, but also the inbetween rotations.
