I agree. My son has about 30 matchbox cars. So the number could be huge. Also, I know a lot of people who own "trucks".

Is it possible that the interviewer is just looking to see if you have decent common sense? Thats what most of these riddles are about, so shouldnt it be that as long as you provide an answer to all three parts of the riddle (cars, barber shop, etc.) that seems in porportion with the other two, it could be correct? If I said that there were 250,000,000 cars, and you assume you can have a male for each car, and that on average 500 males go to a single barber shop, that there are approx. 500,000 barbershops in america. Tell me if they are looking for something different.

Please clarify what you mean by USA. It could be any of these:

I will assume you mean the Uniform Securities Act, which is American legislation designed to guide each state in drafting their own state securities law. Therefore, the answer is 0.

Every car has an associated license plate with it. So my guess would be the total number of cars in US is the total number of license plates assigned till now.

My second guess would be....just expand USA...it stands for "United States Of America"....Now the number of "cars" in this string is only 1....as there is only 1 "c" in the name...
