Title: Error on disclaimer?
Post by Martin S Taylor on Nov 12th, 2002, 12:31pm
I just registered, and had to agree that...

"through your use of this YaBB forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law. This is not only humorous, but legal actions can be taken against you."

I often find defamatory and sexually oriented material humorous, but I don't think that's what you meant to say.

Hmm, also, it sounds like legal action can be taken against me if I inadvertently post a wrong answer on the forum. That would certainly be "material which is false". Yikes!

Looks like its time to use that modify function to destroy the evidence! :D

Actually, I think that's what I meant to say ("not only humorous"). I remember reading the default YaBB disclaimer and changing a few words, thinking I was funny or sarcastic or something. I should probably write a new disclaimer customized to the site.

Hmm, legal action for wrong answers? I would've put myself in the slammer a long time ago! :)

I see problems with that "sexually oriented" clause.  I seem to recall several riddles about Willy Wutang getting or not getting some, and the condom one is right out the window.  So much for good clean fun.
