Just wondering how much traffic does this site receive each day or week.

Also exactly how many registered users do you have?

You can view some forum statistics, such as the number of registered members, on http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~wwu/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi near the bottom
However, a great deal of those are automatically generated by spam-bots.

I don't know about the amount traffic, but the total number of posts is also listed among the forum statistics. You could take a sample of topics to get a view-to-post ratio and extrapolate. (Or write a spider to just add them all up)

That's great thanks (:, I've seen other forums and sites using the IP blacklist to find out if the IP trying to register is a known spammer or bot (although they can just remove themselves from the black list easily).

Just wondering you could implement this, it would reduce the amount of bots and spammers signing up, although you may lose 'true' people who want an account.

To be honest, it's just a suggestion, and your 50 posts before a signature is a great strategy anyway (:
