Stolen Painting
« on: Apr 28th, 2003, 8:43am »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

A painting has been stolen from a museum. The suspects are:

The museum manager,
his wife,
the cleaner and
two visitors.

Who did it? Why? and How?

Okay. This is suppost to be easyish (but still be carefull). It is a weird kind of what happened as it is a crime with suspects. You have to find what happened by asking the suspects, looking in there pockets, looking at the of the crime, whatever really.

e.g.

You ask: I ask the manager where he was at the time of the crime.

I said: The manager says that he was asleep as the crime was at midnight

Is the information given in the example true?  i.e. the crime happened at midnight.

Can I 'observe' whether there are opening times posted anywhere?

Scene of the crime?

The paiting has disappeared from its stand. There is alot of dust around. You find a broom lying a few meters from where the painting was.

I ask the manager where the janitor was at the time of the crime. If he is good then it shouldn't have been dusty.

I now ask, with this new knowledge, the cleaner if he is having an affair with the manager's wife.

I'd like to ask the manager if he know about his wife's affair with the cleaner. Seeing as the janitor really didn't want him to know, I just feel he needs his bubble popped.

Wow, this starting to sound like a soap opera. Smiley Well my question to the visitors is where were they on the night of the crime? And secondly do the visitors know the manager, wife,or cleaner? At this point I think the manager did it to frame the cleaner.

I write down on a sheet of paper: Where were you on the night that the painting was stolen. Then I ask to see what is in the pockets of all of them?
