I would guess that the measurements want to be converted into imperial - making the deer a foot long (I think). Not too good with imperial measurement conversion to metric, and vice versa, though... Which might give some clearer clue, or something

Tail- knot, furlong.
"- knot" could mean backwards "knot" or "not"; which could be "ton"
"furlong" could be "for long"
One could *tail* "ton" onto "furlong" to get "furlongton"
A "long ton" is 2200 pounds.
2200/40 = 55 (40 is the density of a deer in pounds/cubic-ft)
When the US national speed limit was set to 55mph under Reagan, it was known as the "Double Nickle (sic)".
"Doublemint gum" follows logically.
So the answer is based upon with what one would mint nickel; which is a coke-furnace.
Now, Noke wouldn't want to make the riddle "too easy" / "2 e's e" / "ee", so we take those out; which turns "deer" into "dr".
"Dr" clearly is short for "Dr Pepper" which, like "Coke" is a carbonated beverage which verifies that this is the main clue.
"Carbonated" obviously refers to "Carbon Dating" which relates to things that are old.
The logical breaks in "Beverage" are "Bev", "er", and "age". A tiny leap yields "Beverly her age".
This sentence fragment is meaningless until one turns it into "Ask Beverly her age."
Premise 1: Any woman, when asked her age, replies "29".
Premise 2: Beverly is a woman.
Using the Modus Ponens rule of inference, our conclusion is that Beverly is 29.
The riddle said "Determine it's (sic) depth, and you'll get the solution." Beverly's depth is 29ft.
Since everyone knows that men are twice as shallow (half as deep) as women, a man's depth would be 14.5ft.

No, that's probably too rude...I'm stuck.

=> My PFA answer is that this riddle refers to the graverobbing of King Tut's tomb; which is lame on my part as I'm just going on the title and the last clue, and not the first two clues, with which I actually seemed to get farther.
Speaking of whom, it's times like this that I wish I'd listened to my father. But since I didn't, I don't what he would be saying right now and I can't impart any helpful third-party advice.

When I first saw this one I was intrigued. Then I saw KingT's reply, and almost fell off my chair. And, I thought I had the answer, it was floating someplace in my head waiting to come out. But, now that I have come back, it all seems to have leaked out of my left ear...
Anyway.
The first part is still cryptic, but

The last part has to be "but not for long" changing "tail" to "butt" then to "but". <has to be means I hope>
Then, the first part seems to include ducks and roos somehow. I tried to find some famous quotes ending in "but not for long" but found nothing.

We need a link from depth to Sherlock Holmes. There's a film coming out titled "Mark Twain's Greatest Adventure - It's a Matter of Time"; it's a time-travel film which has, among others, Mark Twain and Sherlock Holmes in it.
Mark Twain & depth you say??? In nautical terms, a "Mark" is a depth of six feet. "Twain" is another way of saying two, as in "never the twain shall meet". Ergo "Mark Twain" is twelve feet deep. This was said to be something like the shallowest safe depth for a Mississippi riverboat. Among Samuel Clemens' early jobs was on a riverboat; that's from where he chose his nom de plume.
So my answer(s) is (are):
Either "Mark Twain's Greatest Adventure - It's a Matter of Time" is being filmed near Noke, Noke is in said film, or it's actually about to be released into theatres (all I've found is that's still in pre-production but will be out in 2004).

6 foot is a fathom. The reason 1.83 is orange is it's a link. check out the verb transitive definiton of fathom.
The answer I was looking for was:

The tomb thing as about it being CRYPTic.
Like I said, its sort of self referential-
The game is afoot (there's a challenge been set)
but not for long (as it turned out, a couple of months)
Fathom it out, you have the answer (and you've completed the riddle)
In retrospect, the last line should have been :
determine it's depth to be 1.83 m, and you'll have the answer.
Don't blame me for the Mark Twain stuff, that's our erratic comic genius King T. I loved it. Suspect a few others did.
