That was my next idea, Grimbal. But I'm not convinced that the seas will die down sufficiently, or that some causeway will appear, since, although I'm no geologist, I don't think sand is particularly good at staying in one place to act as a causeway. But, hey, what do I know...

But if it's anything more than a few dozen meter they'll allready use too much of the oxygen under the boat. And they'd have already died before having used up the oxygen from an overdose of CO2..

Actually I agree. If they can not row over the sea, it is probably too far to crawl under it. And they are likely to get lost.

Hmmm..I kinda remembered this scenario from Pirates of the Carribean. Though it does seem a little improbable that the air inside the boat would be sufficient until they reach the other island.
