A woman steers with her pedal

A woman carefully steers with her pedal to the metal. She has covered the length of a football field while leaving a neat row of tracks behind her. Yet after the last yard, when she stands up, she's in the place where she began. Even though she didn't go in a circle or turn back, this is normal for her. What has just happened?

And here I was thinking of those Japanese portable baseball fields. You must have heard of them? The ones whose grass you can roll around?
I think they were used during the foot-ball world cup there.

Although that's the right answer, there are some tractors or heavy machinery that are driven with pedals, a left pedal for the left track and a right one for the right. Using one might circle a distance and yet you'd end up back in the same place.

If the rows don't need to be straight, just precise, the simulator could be of a drift race.
