John explains: "I had 7 apples. I gave half to my brothers, now I have 4 left." How is it possible?

| The five apples in the riddle's title are a bit confusing .... You mixed two and a half apples into a fruit salad. And offered half an apple to your little brothers? A few of them passed away, four of them survived... ? Un peu morbide cette énigme?

One of John's brothers returned half an apple because it is rotten. Or he wears a T-shirt with half an apple printed on. Or he lost a brother so now he has four brothers left.

No, he really means 4 apples left in his possession. And no other apple or half apple is added or removed. But you can safely look for lame answers.

Oh dear. Did his father remarry? such that he has 3 brothers, and one half brother I think I preferred JohanC's take on it...

A lame try ... Maybe John is a close relative of Shalosh B. Ekhad and swears with integer division?

In advance I ask for forgiveness. The answer is: John doesn't know how to count.

Did Biloxi Blues inspired you? Roy Selridge was like John. on Mar 2nd, 2012, 12:54am, Grimbal wrote:In advance I ask for forgiveness. |
| You are forgiven. All you have to do now is to post 149 additional lame riddles, 5 brilliant ones and you'll be just like me.

Ummm. You reminded me just how hard 'What happened' riddles are to make! I probably would have pretended JohanC's answer was the intended... Looking forward to the next one
