1. Lindy is a hypersensitive, fragile woman, who despises violence of any kind. She easily breaks down and cries, even if she gets hurt just a bit and unintentionally.
She is walking down the street, when someone, whom she had never seen before, punches her hard in the stomach. Lindy responds by smiling happily. Can you explain it?
2. Timothy often calls his mother, but under no circumstances does he approve when someone else says that he is attached to her.
He is sitting in a bar with three of his colleagues, all sipping non-alcoholic drinks and engaging in a casual conversation. One of them says about him: "Timothy is very attached to his mummy." Timothy doesn't get upset at all. In fact, he laughs. What happened?

For Lindy, that sound some kind of Heimlich maneuver-type scenario, but I can't figure out why.

As for no. 2: Timothy is on a night out with some friend which is themed as a fancy dress / three legged night. Having been paired with a mummy-dressed friend, and this being their final destination (hence switching to soft drinks to vaguely cope with work/lectures in the morning) he is drunk enough to find this highly amusing.

Or perhaps he is a masochist, and enjoys people doing things that he disapproves of.
Also, I know his wife is not blind, but perhaps she was, and the fact that she is staring at him mans she has miraculously regained her sight. Even though he disapproves of the staring, overall he is happy because his wife's sight has returned.
