They were teleported there by an alien riddler who has unique technology. There is a round opening 19 inches wide at the bottom and at the center of a wall. The opening leads to freedom and is the only way out since nobody will come. The only remaining object in the riddle is a pair of scissors on the floor. Earthling A can’t leave the room because of earthling B. Earthling B can’t leave the room w/o earthling A. However, three hours later they both leave the room.
