If I remember correctly:
[hide] The bell signalled the end of a round of boxing, but too late;the loser was killed by his opponents last punch [/hide]

This is a different one because the answer is nothing like that.

;D

Hint:[hide] for this you need to ask question like to find out where he is but give you something to start, the man has something wrong with him. He can hear, speak but he cant... [/hide]
i think i ve given  it away! whoops !!!!

Ok, the man is blind, and the bell ringing is the blind-person indication that a traffic light is red. The man was overran by a speeding car.

Or, the car belongs to an extrentic billionare who is driving a complete reconstruction of a steem-powered car. The bell is the warning "horn" on this car. He was the one overrunning the blind man. Later, he walked out at court -- being a billionare he hired good lawers.

No but your right he is blind. To know what happened you need to Know where he is.

(Its not in a street and he does not get run over by a car.)

;D

Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings, or a blind man falls down an elevator shaft.

I know a similar one.
the text was:

A ring bell,
a mam die,
a ring bell.

(highlight next space for read it )
[hide] A blind man is swimming every day in the sea.
A bell rings to show him the direction of the coast.
A day, there was the same bell which rang on a boat in the wrong direction. The man tried to reach the coast because he was tired and he had never joined it..[/hide]

is that the same one ?

Maybe the man always has his waiter ring a bell for lunch, but in this case a cruise ship is passing  and he thinks lunch is in that direction, but he falls off the 100 foot pier onto a few rocks... seafood anyone? ;)

Heard another explanation: [hide]The man is in a circus. He is a tightrope walker. The bell signalled that he had reached (or 1 step away from the end). Maybe the bell rang too soon.[/hide]

Have to say this is one of the friendliest forum I have seen.

Welcome to the forum RidRash.

The other version to the puzzle that i know is similar to the i post: [hide]

The child i walking on the habour.
He knows he has to be home at eight for dinner.
When he hears the bell on the boat, he thinks it is church bell.
Being blind he does not know he walks toward the bell, as he think it is his way home.
He falls into the sea and, as he is a little kid, he does not know how to swim so he drowns  :'(
(but then again what kind of parent leave their blind child go to the harbour without then coming?)
