Title: escalator tragedy
Post by jade on Apr 6th, 2003, 11:42am
here's another nice unrealistic one:

a man is going up an escalator when the escalator suddenly stops. At that moment he knows his wife is dead. why?

Hint: [hide]In that place they don't seem to have any emergency generators.[/hide]

(better, Kitty? ;))

Cool!!!!!!!!!!

;D

Mayb his wife works the escalator by hand, so when it stops, his no his wife is dead.

lol, no, nice try though. his wife isn't actually in the same room as the escalator.

Could it be because [hide]she's hooked up to life support, and the power has gone out? [/hide]

The man's sick wife needs a medication in order to survive (like most life support systems, his wife's has a back-up power supply). The medicine had run out, and with only hours to spare the husband went to the pharmacy on the 2nd floor of the local mall. Not being particuarly bright, the man was unable to escape from the stopped escalator and did not get home in time.

Alternatively:
His wife had been sentenced to death in the electric chair. The sentence was due to be carried out in a local prison that day. When the switch was thrown the extra current drawn resulted in a brown-out at the mall (where the guy is).

Hold up guys, suppose that the man had known for quite some time that his wife was dead already. The escaltor stops for some random reason, bringing back up all those old memories of his wife's death. At that moment he is reminded that his wife is dead. Does this make sence to anyone else, or am i just mad that i couldnt come up with the electric chair one? LOL
